Candle Care

How do I light my candle?

When lighting your candle for the first time, lean your candle to the side where you can comfortably place the flame in the corner of the wick where it meets the wax. Allow nearly 10 seconds for the flame to take to the wick and spread from the bottom to the top corner. After the flame has spread from one side of the wick to the other, it is now time to level your candle and begin to enjoy the fragrance. Burn times vary according to ambient temperature and humidity.

Where do I place my candle?

When looking for a good place to make home for your candle, be sure it is kept away form drafty areas and ensure it is leveled on a heat-resistant flat surface. It is best to keep the candle out of direct sunlight to avoid discoloration of the wax. Be sure also to not move your candle while it is burning.

How do I take care of the wick?

After burning your candle, the cedar wood wick will have a burnt top that should be removed. If you notice an overly large flame upon relighting, you'll know it is time to trim the excess portion of the burnt wick. To trim, make sure the wax is firm and has completely cooled. Simply use your fingers to pinch off the burnt top of the wick. A wick trimmer could also be used. For best results, remove all loose burnt wick edges and any trimmings that may have fallen onto the wax.

What is the cleaning process?

One of the biggest benefits of soy wax is that it cleans up easily with just soap and water. If you experience a spill of melted wax, simply clean with warm, soapy water. Once your candle has completely burned you may recycle or repurpose the container.
